Why should we back?

Intro

Avensi Wave Porcelain approaches the coffee cup as part of the brewing and tasting experience rather than simply the container at the end of it. Created by Inspired Lifestyle, the collection brings the Avensi Wave concept into handcrafted porcelain while retaining the distinctive internal Aeration Wave design.

These sculpted ridges are designed to interact with coffee when you swirl the cup. The movement introduces air and encourages aromatic compounds to become more noticeable, applying an idea familiar from wine tasting to specialty coffee.

The porcelain collection includes multiple capacities for espresso, filter coffee, americanos, cappuccinos, lattes, and other drinks. The cups are also designed to stack, while individually glazed porcelain gives the collection a more traditional and tactile character than the earlier glass versions.

Why should I back this project?

  1. Aeration is integrated directly into the cup. The internal Aeration Wave ridges are designed to create turbulence and trap small air bubbles as coffee is swirled, potentially making aromas and flavor characteristics easier to perceive.
  2. Four sizes cover very different coffee styles. The collection ranges from a compact 90 mL espresso cup through 180 mL and 300 mL versions to a large 450 mL cup suitable for milk drinks, americanos, and iced coffee.
  3. It combines sensory design with porcelain craftsmanship. The cups are individually glazed and handcrafted, giving them an aesthetic appeal that should matter even when you are not actively using the swirling technique.
  4. The stackable format is practical. Specialty coffee equipment can quickly occupy a large amount of counter space, so the ability to stack different cup sizes makes a multi-cup collection easier to store.

What’s the potential drawbacks you should consider when you back it?

  1. Flavor enhancement will inevitably be subjective. Aroma, taste perception, coffee quality, brewing method, temperature, and individual sensitivity all affect how noticeable the Aeration Wave experience feels.
  2. The optimal swirling volume is lower than the cup’s maximum capacity. To make full use of the internal ridges, users may need to pour considerably less coffee than the cup can physically hold.
  3. It is aimed primarily at coffee enthusiasts. Someone drinking ordinary coffee quickly every morning may receive less value from the sensory design than a person who already pays attention to beans, extraction, aroma, and tasting notes.
  4. Handcrafted porcelain introduces manufacturing complexity. Maintaining consistent dimensions, glazing, surface quality, and internal wave geometry across mass production is more demanding than producing a conventional cup.

The reliability of the project

  1. Avensi Wave already has crowdfunding experience. Earlier Avensi Wave campaigns attracted thousands of backers and substantial funding, giving the team experience with both product development and crowdfunding fulfillment.
  2. The core concept has already existed in previous Avensi products. The porcelain edition develops an established Wave design rather than introducing the entire sensory-cup concept for the first time.
  3. The current campaign has quickly exceeded its funding target. Strong early backing suggests that the existing Avensi community is willing to support the expansion into porcelain.
  4. The product remains relatively simple from a technical perspective. There are no batteries, firmware, connected services, or electronic components to maintain after delivery, although manufacturing quality remains important.

Conclusion

Avensi Wave Porcelain makes the most sense for people who already treat coffee as something to explore. If you buy specialty beans, experiment with extraction, compare tasting notes, or enjoy slowing down over espresso and pour-over coffee, changing the drinking vessel is a logical next variable to explore.

The Aeration Wave design is the defining feature, but I also like that the cups retain practical qualities such as multiple sizes and stackable storage. Even if the sensory difference varies from coffee to coffee, the porcelain construction gives the product value as distinctive drinkware.

The main question is how much you care about the final stage of the coffee experience. Casual coffee drinkers probably do not need this level of specialization. Enthusiasts who already invest in grinders, brewers, beans, and technique are much more likely to appreciate what Avensi is trying to achieve.

Given the team’s previous Avensi campaigns and the maturity of the underlying concept, this feels like an evolutionary Kickstarter project with a relatively understandable product proposition.
