Why should we back?
Intro
Welcome to KickstartNew. Today I’m introducing a promising hardware project on Kickstarter — “Plug-and-Play 4K Wireless Transmitter & Receiver” by YURON. This device aims to deliver cable-free 4K video transmission: simply plug in to your source (PC, laptop, phone) and output to a display (TV, monitor) wirelessly. For anyone looking to cut HDMI cables and clutter, this could be an appealing solution.

Why should I back this project?
-
True plug-and-play — no complex setup, drivers, or software needed: from the campaign page the system advertises itself as “instant plug & play.”
-
4K @ 60Hz video over wireless — the transmitter/receiver promises 4K 60Hz output, enabling sharp, high-definition viewing or presentation quality.
-
Long transmission range — it claims up to around 45 m wireless transmission distance.
-
Wide device compatibility — designed to work with MacOS, Windows, Android and likely any HDMI-equipped display, making it suitable for many setups.

What are the potential drawbacks you should consider when you back it?
-
Wireless performance is often environment-sensitive — real-world transmission distance or stability can be reduced by interference, walls or obstacles. This is a common challenge for wireless HDMI/AV transmission devices.
-
Latency / compression tradeoffs — while the product promises 4K 60Hz, wireless transmission + compression might still introduce lag or degrade image quality compared with wired HDMI. Many comparable devices prioritize convenience over “wired-level” fidelity.
-
Limited control compared to wired — some advanced use cases (e.g. gaming, high-frame-rate video editing, professional calibration) may be less reliable via wireless than via a direct cable.
-
Dependence on final hardware/software quality — as this is a crowdfunding hardware project, actual performance depends on manufacturing quality, testing, and final firmware/driver support after shipping.

The reliability of the project
-
The project is already “Funded — In Progress” according to its tracker.
-
The crowdfunding goal was relatively modest compared with the amount pledged — this suggests strong demand and some confidence from backers.
-
The technical spec (4K 60Hz, 45 m, plug-and-play) is in line with capabilities of other wireless HDMI / AV-extender products on the market, indicating the idea is feasible if implemented well.
-
However — as with many early-stage crowdfunded hardware devices: final quality, reliability, and user experience remain to be proven after delivery.
